We are seeking a Trading System Support Engineer who will join our Performance and Trading Support team. The team shares responsibility for production incident response, system fine tuning, and communication. This demanding and highly technical role requires strong technical systems and application knowledge to make critical support decisions under pressure. The role bridges high-performance engineering with real-time system monitoring and support, requiring a hands?'on approach to both proactive performance tuning and reactive troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial markets, system reliability, and continuous improvement through data and automation.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily support of proprietary trading systems to ensure system availability and performance.
- Set up and maintain tools that monitor for alerts and test new system changes
- Develop scripts and tools to automate system tasks and processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
- Analyze and optimize the performance of our trading systems to ensure low-latency, high-throughput operations under heavy load during high volatility market conditions
- Drive improvements in observability by building custom monitoring tools and dashboards for performance and system health.
- Define and document operational procedures, best practices, and knowledge bases to support system reliability and scaling.
- Mentor support engineers and share performance tuning knowledge across teams.
- Propose new ideas or gather requirements for additional functionality, both of which are brought into production quickly through our short development cycles.
- Strong experience in performance engineering and production support for high?'availability systems.
- Hands?'on experience with Linux?'based systems and performance analysis tools.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Shell, etc.) and familiarity with a version control system like GitLab
- Solid understanding of database technologies: MSSQL, Postgres, Redis, InfluxDB, MongoDB.
- Willingness to work additional and flexible hours when necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and a thorough understanding of performance optimization/latency reduction methodologies.
- Experience with trading systems or financial platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Tbricks, Quik) is a plus.
- Kubernetes (k8s) knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Previous experience within a financial services or trading environment is a plus.
