As an Engineer II, you'll be developing financial products that will shape the future of how businesses manage their finances. With expansion into new markets and an increasing volume of transactions, Mollie has recently introduced exciting new products. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your ideas to life and contribute to these. Mollie Capital offers easy access to flexible financing, providing funding to support growth and cash flow management. In-person payments allows merchants to accept payments at their physical stores through our terminal and mobile app. These innovations enable Mollie to offer a seamless all-in-one payment solution and money management platform.
What you will be doing:
- Building Large-Scale Systems: Help us design and engineer systems that can scale to manage high volumes of transactions efficiently and effectively.
- API and Service Development: Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Mollie’s engineering teams.
- Autonomy and Ownership: Lead technical initiatives from architecture design to implementation, ensuring engineering excellence throughout the process.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize your creative problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to resolve complex issues and contribute to our mission of making financial processes effortless.
What you will bring:
- Always Be Shipping mindset: It’s about consistently delivering value to customers, where speed and quality go hand in hand.
- 3+ years of experience in developing large-scale applications, preferably with PHP or Java. Experience with Go, C#, or Python is also valued, but you are willing to work with PHP or Java.
- Experience in designing systems and handling queuing, caching, concurrency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience working effectively with various stakeholders. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to shape ideas with a product-first approach, as well as analyze and resolve complex issues.
