Software Engineer Data - Altas Technologies at IMC

In 2023, IMC acquired Altas Technologies, a rapidly growing algorithmic trading firm with the ambition of creating tomorrow’s most technically advanced trading stack. The Altas team builds robust, fully automated systems to predict and trade cryptocurrency markets. As a technology-oriented and scientifically-minded group, we design and build our own cutting-edge systems, from high-performance trading platforms to distributed ML- and research infrastructure. You’ll join at a very exciting time in the growth of the team, and will be able to contribute to our success in scaling our crypto strategies. In this role you\u2019ll work together with an ambitious team of researchers and quant developers to design and implement HFT monetisation frameworks end-to-end and from the ground up.

You will become part of a growing core development team consisting of ~5 people today, working with cutting-edge technologies on both greenfield projects as well as optimising existing systems and applications. The team has full end-to-end ownership of their stack. In this role you will:

• Guarantee reliable, high-quality ingestion of data from external sources and centralize data their processing activities in correspondence with strong optimizations.
• Work in close partnership with research teams to support their data needs.
• Promote and implement automation across systems to accelerate deployment cycles.
• Be willing to get hands-on with business data — exploring, validating, and troubleshooting to ensure it meets the needs of the organization.
• Stay up to date with the latest technology trends in the industry; propose, evaluate, and implement innovative solutions.
• Drive heavy focus on systems automation and CI/CD to enable rapid deployment of software solutions.

• 2+ years of experience in the (crypto) trading industry (or related).
• Strong Python proficiency, ideally supported with RUST experience (these could be pet projects) and complemented with a language/tech agnostic mindset.
• Experience working with large raw data parsing and live data ingestion.
• Proficiency in modern data storage and infrastructure tools such as S3/Minio, HDFS, Kafka, Iceberg and Clickhouse amongst others.
• Solid hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Hands-on familiarity with workflow orchestration systems.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems proactively and creatively with a results-oriented mindset.
• Quick learner with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability.
