Offshore wind is characterized by lightning-fast development of technology, as well as changing market conditions and regulations. Eneco's is currently operating 5 offshore wind farms, Prinses Amaliawindpark, Luchterduinen, Blauwwind, Two Towers, Crosswind. This will grow with the completion of Ecowende (HKW6) next year. Eneco is also shareholder in the Belgian offshore windfarms Norther and Seamade. Further growth of our portfolio will come from our development of new offshore wind farms in Northwest Europe. Eneco Wind Operations Offshore (EWOO) makes an important contribution to continuous improvement based on its knowledge and experience.
As a WTG Engineer, you will ensure the optimal technical performance of our wind turbines by supporting safe and efficient maintenance operations. You work closely with OEMs, service partners, and internal specialists, both onshore and offshore. Your work combines inspection visits with data-driven performance monitoring and improvement initiatives.
In your first months, you will follow GWO safety training and become familiar with our turbines, systems, and tools. Over time, you will develop into a key technical sparring partner for operations, asset management, and project teams.
- Monitor turbine alarms, faults, and performance data to support root cause analysis and reliability improvements
- Track progress of planned and corrective maintenance and ensure downtime is allocated correctly
- Contribute to monthly reporting, including REMIT, availability forecasting, and lost production analysis
- Review service documentation, risk assessments, and method statements
- Conduct offshore visits for inspections, safety walks, and major component exchanges
- Support incident investigations and implementation of HSE improvements
- Collaborate with WTG main contractor to solve technical issues and improve service quality
- Technical Bachelor's or Master’s degree (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience in wind energy or energy sector is a plus
- Offshore experience is a plus; GWO and VCA certifications (or willingness to obtain) required
- Strong analytical, structured, and proactive mindset
- Communicates clearly English; Dutch is a plus
- Team player who can also work independently and show initiative
To be eligible for this role, you need to already reside in the Netherlands.
You’ll be based at our operations office in the port of IJmuiden, with a direct view of the North Sea. Here, you’ll work alongside experienced WTG engineers, analysts, HSE specialists, and marine coordinators. You’ll report to the Operations Manager and collaborate closely with our specialists in Rotterdam and Ostend.
