Senior System Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain mission‑critical infrastructure that supports high‑performance systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems architecture, cloud technologies, automation, and performance optimization for ‘end‑user systems environments.’

You’ll be a key contributor in uplifting the team’s technical capabilities, enabling smarter operations across our Amsterdam office while also supporting the implementation and rollout of global initiatives and work together with our offices in London, Zug and Aarhus.

Systems Architecture & Design

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure systems across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Implementation & Automation

• Build automated workflows and integrate third‑party tools via APIs to reduce overhead.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting and logging solutions to ensure uptime and visibility.
• Engineer, maintain, and evolve user environments ensuring high availability, performance, and seamless user experience that scales into the future.
• Lead by example, mentoring more junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and smart automation.

Operations & Maintenance

• Manage system performance, capacity planning, and availability to ensure 24/7 operational reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system‑level issues across network, compute, and storage layers.
• Maintain strict compliance with security policies, patch management, and backup standards.

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer with deep expertise that has a broad understanding of adjacent areas. You’re someone who sees beyond the initial problem and wants to engineer solutions. You have/bring:

• 6+ years of experience as a System Engineer in enterprise or high‑performance environments.
• Deep expertise in Windows and Cloud Infrastructure* (AWS preferred).
• Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell/Python or Low‑Code tools.
• Knowledge of MDM tools (like JAMF and Intune).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of MacOS and Linux platforms.
• A problem‑solving mindset: with the ability to zoom out, propose smarter solutions that are effective on a larger scope.
• Solid documentation and operational handover habits, empowering others to follow clear processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.

* Microsoft and AWS Certifications are considered a plus
