For more than half a century, Serco has walked alongside the pioneers of space. Serco has supported over 50 ESA missions where our teams have helped launch satellites, guide spacecraft across the void and turn data into discoveries that reshape our world.
With thousands of specialists contributing across the entire space lifecycle, from engineering support and satellite testing to launch services, LEOP, operations and surveillance, we have become a trusted force in national and European space strategies. And now, the next chapter could include you.
The Community You’ll Step Into:- At Serco, you will join an established on-site team supporting the European Space Agency at ESTEC in Noordwijk, the technical heart of Europe’s space activities. Within ESA’s Navigation Directorate, documentation plays a mission‑critical role, ensuring that sensitive and non‑sensitive information is managed with precision, traceability, and full compliance with strict security requirements.
- You will work closely with ESA technical officers, security services, registrars, and programme stakeholders, becoming a trusted presence in a highly regulated and international environment. The role sits at the intersection of operational delivery, security and stakeholder coordination, offering daily exposure to complex space programmes and the people who support them.
- As Documentation Service Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of the Navigation Documentation Support Service at ESTEC. Acting as the single point of contact for ESA, you will ensure documentation services are delivered reliably, securely, and in line with contractual, regulatory, and performance expectations.
- Your leadership will provide continuity and structure to the service, supporting ESA’s navigation programmes through clear coordination, effective performance management and close collaboration with all stakeholders. By anticipating needs and maintaining high operational standards, you will directly contribute to the integrity, accessibility and compliance of critical programme documentation.
- In this role, you will translate the Statement of Work into day‑to‑day operational delivery. You will coordinate documentation service activities, monitor performance against agreed service levels, and ensure full adherence to ESA security directives and procedures. You will work alongside service teams and ESA counterparts to manage priorities, address issues, and support audits, reviews, and accreditation activities.
- You will also play an active role in service evolution, identifying opportunities to improve processes while maintaining the high levels of control and reliability required in a security‑sensitive environment. Your contribution will help ensure that documentation services remain robust, consistent and fit for purpose throughout the contract lifecycle.
- You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and bring at least four years of professional experience in service management or operational support roles within a complex or regulated environment. You are comfortable working in customer‑facing settings, coordinating multiple stakeholders and operating within structured service delivery frameworks.
- You approach your work with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a clear sense of responsibility. You communicate effectively in English, adapt easily to international technical environments and are confident navigating processes where security, compliance and accuracy are paramount. You need to be EU national and eligible for an EU security clearance.
