We are currently looking for a System Engineer to join the team in Rotterdam.
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the system meets customer requirements throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
Based on the customer's critical performance criteria, you will be responsible for deriving system-level requirements to meet performance, manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability standards. You will assess the feasibility of these requirements and support the entire product development process until validation and final integration at the customer site.
You will collaborate closely with the following departments:
- Product Marketing: Provide technical information about the current state of the machine and help identify gaps for R&D or D&E to address.
- Development & Engineering: Supply system performance requirements, specifications, and architecture/feasibility studies, and lead technical decision-making.
- Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Tests: Define verification, validation, and qualification plans at both the system and subsystem levels.
As a System Engineer, you will regularly interact with customers, addressing their questions and requests professionally and proactively. To excel in this role, you must be customer-oriented, possess excellent problem analysis skills, have strong persuasive abilities, demonstrate good communication skills, and exhibit natural leadership qualities. This role may require occasional travel.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate for the position has several years of experience in a high-tech environment, preferably within the semiconductor equipment field.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- A Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Image and Signal Processing, or Optics, with significant involvement in several of these areas
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art solutions and products in Metrology and/or Precision Mechanisms
- Proven experience in establishing top-down performance budgets
- Excellent understanding of risk and opportunity assessments to conduct trade-off studies
- Ability to identify and address gaps in product architecture
- Experience in coordinating development plans
- Natural leadership qualities
- Conceptual and structured thinking abilities
- Extensive knowledge of validation methods
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
- Strong emphasis on quality
- Determination to achieve results on time
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
