Overhead Transmission Line Engineer

The organisation is seeking an experienced Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support the development of high-voltage transmission infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, analysing, and guiding the execution of overhead line projects, contributing to safe, efficient, and future‑ready power networks.

The organisation operates within the power and energy sector, delivering engineering and consultancy services for major transmission and distribution projects. Teams work across technical disciplines to develop reliable, sustainable infrastructure solutions that meet regulatory, environmental, and operational standards.

• Design overhead transmission line structures and conductor systems using software such as PLS-CADD.
• Determine optimal transmission line routes, considering topography, tower locations, and required clearances.
• Perform structural and mechanical analyses to ensure designs withstand operational and environmental loads.
• Support project planning, environmental documentation, and permitting processes.
• Collaborate with clients, engineering teams, regulators, and project stakeholders to align technical requirements and develop solutions.
• Conduct site visits and attend project meetings when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Prior experience in overhead transmission line engineering, ideally up to 400 kV.
• Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as PLS-CADD.
• Ability to travel for project-related activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
