For an exciting new project within the European Defence domain, we are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to work at Starion’s premises in Leiden, Netherlands.

You will be working within a newly formed team of 6 to 7 professionals and together, you will build web applications for real time users who operate in complex and dynamic environments. These applications provide real time authorization for critical administrative processes, allowing the primary work to continue without delay.

About the client and location

STARION Group B.V. Has two offices in the Netherlands: Noordwijk and Leiden. The teams support governmental and defence organizations with secure and scalable software solutions.

For this project, you can work remotely 4 days a week, as long as you live in the Netherlands and can be on Leiden’s site at least 1 day/week. During intensive phases, this could increase up to 2 days.

Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

• Designing and building robust data driven applications.
• Optimizing high throughput collaborative systems.
• Working according to test driven development.
• Jointly developing the supporting tools and libraries.
• Performing verification and validation of the SW solutions.

Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

• University Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering or other relevant fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in C#, with Test Driven Design.
• Proven knowledge of .NET Core and Blazor
• Experience with the MVVM design pattern.
• Solid understanding of Relational Databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of Git, GitHub and GitLab.
• Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
• Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills and experience are valuable assets:

• Knowledge of Dutch, both written and spoken.
• Experience in continuous integration tools.
• Data modelling using languages such as Ecore or UML.
• Containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Developing mobile and/or web applications using TypeScript or JavaScript.
