Senior Staff React Native Engineer

In 2018, Bitvavo launched the first version of its digital assets trading platform, to bridge the gap between traditional currencies and digital assets. Our team, located in Amsterdam, is looking for self-driven, talented people who can help make digital assets available for everyone.

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Engineer, Frontend to shape how Bitvavo delivers best-in-class customer experiences across all our frontend products.

Most of our users interact through our app, so this role has a strong mobile focus, but its impact spans every domain that builds user-facing interfaces. You’ll define how we build, test, and ship products, empowering engineers to deliver quickly, confidently, and with exceptional quality.

This role has department-wide scope and influence. You’ll help define how engineering operates at Bitvavo, setting the principles, practices, and systems that ensure our products are reliable, fast, and delightful to use.

• Define the technical direction for all of Bitvavo’s frontend systems.

• Shape how we build, test, and ship products to deliver fast, seamless experiences.

• Partner with product and design to create intuitive, consistent interfaces.

• Lead initiatives that improve performance, accessibility, and developer productivity.

• Ensure our products can handle low-latency data interactions efficiently and reliably, at scale.

• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical leadership across the company.

• Help define how engineering operates as Bitvavo scales.

• 10+ years of experience building large-scale, user-facing products, with deep mobile expertise.

• Strong proficiency in React Native, React and familiarity with iOS and Android native development.

• Proven success leading initiatives that raised the technical and user-experience bar.

• Experience working with low-latency or real-time data systems (for example, market data, trading, or other time-sensitive domains).

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with influence beyond your team.

• Pragmatic, outcome-focused approach, balancing speed, quality, and impact.
