Responsibilities- Ensuring the technical quality of automation systems on ships and maritime equipment
- Designing system architectures, control panels, and I/O cabinets
- Taking technical ownership of automation solutions throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting project managers with planning and deadline tracking
- Translating customer requirements into technical specifications and basic designs
- Advising on automation best practices and acting as a point of contact for customers, suppliers, and colleagues
- Managing a team of engineers, depending on project size, to ensure design excellence
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field
- Proven experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within the maritime, dredging, or offshore industries
- Strong technical knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems and electrical installations
- Confident in preparing I/O lists, technical specifications, and functional requirements
- Skilled communicator with a hands‑on, team‑oriented approach
- Comfortable working in English; Dutch language skills are an asset
- Familiarity with safety standards, quality regulations, and certification procedures
- A valid EU work permit is required to be considered for this position
