We are looking for a motivated and competent Site Manager to oversee and coordinate all logistics and operations activities related to the supply of maritime stores and provisions in Rotterdam / Netherlands.
About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Site Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our ship chandling site in Rotterdam / Netherlands. The ideal candidate will bring strong managerial skills and deep knowledge of maritime logistics and supply operations. This role involves overseeing personnel, optimizing workflows, maintaining service quality, and ensuring that all vessel supplies are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with company and regulatory standards.
The Site Manager will play a key leadership role, bridging operational execution with strategic direction to ensure high performance, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all site operations, including logistics, warehousing, delivery coordination, and vessel supply activities.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team (operations, logistics, warehouse, and support staff) to ensure smooth daily functioning.
- Plan and prioritize operational tasks to meet vessel schedules, client requirements, and internal KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and food quality/hygiene procedures (including HACCP and ISO requirements).
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock availability.
- Supervise site budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Liaise with clients, port authorities, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and service reliability.
- Review and approve operational documentation, shipping papers, and delivery records.
- Report on site performance metrics, including delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and customer feedback.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, labor regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Candidate must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, Maritime Studies, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in logistics or maritime operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience in ship chandling or maritime supply operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of port operations, customs procedures, and maritime logistics processes.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, especially under time pressure.
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP/logistics systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
