Open.cx is an all-in-one AI-powered customer support platform for high-volume, complex enterprise support. We help global SaaS companies, fintech leaders, and large-scale marketplaces replace outdated multi-tool setups with one AI-first workspace that can handle complex L2/L3 cases across web, phone, and email, faster, cheaper, and with human-like empathy.

Our customers cut costs by up to 12x, boost CSAT, and finally achieve automation rates that legacy vendors only promise. Backed by Y Combinator, Pioneer Fund, and industry leaders from Klarna and Mollie, we’re building the future of enterprise support with a small, high-output team that ships fast and thinks bigger than most companies in our space.

The Role

We’re looking for an Ex-Founder / Entrepreneur-in-Residence (Engineering), someone who’s built and shipped their own product before, ideally as a technical founder, and knows what it means to own an outcome end-to-end.

You won’t just write code. You’ll:

  • Spot opportunities.
  • Define solutions.
  • Talk to customers.
  • Ship features.
  • Measure impact.
  • Pivotal when needed.

Think of this as joining Open.cx as a founder without the fundraising stress, you’ll have funding, customers, and a massive market ready, but the freedom and autonomy to build like it’s your own company. You’ll have direct influence on what we build, why we build it, and how it ships, taking ideas from “sketch on a whiteboard” to “live and in use by enterprise customers” in days, not months.

What You’ll Do
  • Own problems, not just tickets: Identify, define, and solve customer pain points end-to-end.
  • Ship high-impact features: From backend systems to frontend UX, with speed and quality.
  • Talk to customers: Join calls to uncover insights and refine your solutions.
  • Integrate deeply: Build and maintain integrations with Salesforce, Zendesk, Intercom, Twilio, and other core systems.
  • Push boundaries: Prototype and launch AI-driven workflows our competitors can’t touch.
  • Operate like a founder: Make trade-offs, prioritize ruthlessly, and own the results.
  • Shape the product: Influence roadmap decisions based on technical insight and user feedback.
  • Wear multiple hats: Jump into ops, onboarding, debugging, or even pitch in on sales conversations when it helps move the product forward.
What We’re Looking For
  • You’ve been a founder or early builder,you’ve taken an idea from zero to product, ideally with real users.
  • Strong technical foundation:
    • Backend expertise (Node.js, TypeScript, or Python preferred).
    • Frontend skills (React, TypeScript) to ship UI without handoffs.
    • Comfort with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
    • Real-world experience with APIs, webhooks, and real-time systems.
  • Bias for action: You ship before it’s perfect, then iterate.
  • Customer obsession: You think about what solves the problem, not what looks good on a roadmap.
  • Adaptability: You’re energized by changing priorities and unknowns.
  • Business sense: You can connect technical choices to business impact.
