The Earner Payments & Cash team is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to provide technical leadership for a group of engineers building global payment solutions while closely collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams. This tech lead will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a strong, diverse, high-impact team of engineers. The Earner Payments & Cash team is organized around 3 main themes:
- Enabling payments between earners and spenders such as physical cash and QR codes.
- Ensuring earners have a delightful experience while navigating their options to get paid quickly while providing them with options for building wealth through financial products.
- Ensuring that 7-8 million earners globally are paid reliably each week.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to design and implement new product ideas and business needs with scalable solutions and frameworks
- Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
- Technical lead responsible for the team's technical design choices, code reviews, and reliability
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- 10+ years of full-time Software Engineering work experience
- Programming language (GO, Java, C++)
- Experience using AI to drive build engineering solutions more efficiently.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Experience building a highly scalable critical system
- Experience leading and building resilient distributed systems
- Experience providing tech leadership to a large team of engineers.
- Experience building financial services or payment-related software e.g,. Trading, lending, credit card, payments
