What’s the job about?
As Business Development Manager at the largest conference hotel in The Hague, you have an exciting and dynamic role as our property offers 306 guest rooms and a wide variety of meeting and event spaces. Being part of Marriott International brings a strong foundation of loyal guests and global sales organization to proactively build on by identifying and securing additional business to maximize rooms and events revenue.
In this role, you leverage your network to stay ahead of market developments. You follow trends, identify new opportunities, and ensure we remain top-of-mind. You anticipate the needs of our clients and offer creative and tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Being a part of the Sales team you explore new markets in all business segments, from corporate to leisure, groups to individuals to generate new enquiries and leads. You work closely with the Conference & Events Team for any group/events enquiries to be converted and collaborate with the Sales Manager to maximize existing relationships.
Together with the Sales Team you act as an ambassadors of the hotel. You think creatively, challenge conventional approaches, and recognize potential in every segment.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Your main objective is to drive revenue and market share by developing new business across all segments.
Key responsibilities include:
Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities
Initiate sales campaigns and optimize conversion
Maintain strong partnerships with MICE distribution networks, DMCs, and PCOs
Engage actively in relevant business networks and associations
Organize Marriott client events and networking activities onsite
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
Collaborate closely with Revenue Management on strategy and business opportunities
Be a team player with the Conference & Events team to ensure your leads convert and transform into repeat business for the property
Work together towards budget results year-round and track performance on sales initiatives
Support reporting for YTL Hotels (owning company) and Hotel Management Team
You are:
You are an energetic and confident sales professional with a creative mindset and strong commercial drive. You think strategically and act proactively.
Besides that we hope to find the following in our Business Development Manager:
2–4 years experience in hotel sales
Self-driven sales hunter to go out and hit the road
Strong existing relationships with potential clients/partners
Professional communication, social etiquette, and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to thrive under pressure and manage demanding travel schedules
