This is what you can expect as Junior Geotechnical Software Tester
We are seeking a (geotechnical) engineer with affinity for software development to join our team as a Software Tester. Your role focuses on applying your geotechnical expertise to test and validate specialist geotechnical analysis software. You will evaluate renowned Deltares software packages such as D-Settlement, D-Stability, D-Geo Flow, Kratos, as well as software for piles and retaining structures, ensuring the software is accurate, reliable, and aligned with engineering practice and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design test cases for a range of geotechnical analyses (such as soil mechanics, foundation testing and soil permeability)
- Validate against known analytical and numerical results
- Collaborate with geotechnical experts and developers to troubleshoot numerical issues, edge cases, and usability concerns
- Maintain regression datasets and support test automation
Your future team
As a geotechnical software tester you will be part of the Product line Geotechnics and Flood defenses. The team consist of geotechnical engineers, software developers, scientific software engineers and mathematical specialists, who work in close cooperation with each other. Together you assure the quality of Deltares’ specialist geotechnical software used globally for flood protection and infrastructure projects.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Degree (BSc/MSc) with a knowledge of geotechnical analysis methods.
- Hands-on experience with one or more geotechnical design software packages (e.g., PLAXIS, D-Stability).
- Analytical skills to compare software outputs against theory and practice.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both engineers and software developers.
- A drive and willingness to learn software development skills.[Bd3]
