Role Overview
As data engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data management & governance landscape with the right tooling together. Your work closely together with the Product Owner. You will be responsible for owning and optimizing the implementation of Collibra and the Data Quality Tool, ensuring they align with business objectives and contribute to the overall success of our enterprise wide Data Management & Governance initiatives. With this you will help the organization to better find, understand, manage and trust data.
Responsibilities
Vision:
• Develop and communicate clear product vision together with the Product Owner, strategy and roadmap aligned with Data Management & Governance initiatives and business needs;
Collaboration:
• Understand and manage your stakeholders - to do the rights things and to get things done!
Sparring partner:
• With your Data Management & Governance knowledge and expertise, be the right hand and sparring partner for the Data Management & Governance capability lead;
Feature Delivery:
• Manage the Data Management Team, ensuring that features are delivered on time and meet quality standards;
Adoption:
• Give demos and training within the organization, to help people get value out of the Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Quality tool.
Team Structure
You will be working within the Data Management & Governance team, consisting of 6 Data Domain Stewards, 5 Data Management Engineers and the Data Management & Governance Capability Lead. This team helps Schiphol to work easier, faster and safer with data by defining enterprise-wide Data Governance policies and coordinating the data governance work over the different business domains. The Data Management team is responsible for implementing the technology to support all the data governance initiatives.
Qualifications
In this role you manage the data management engineers together with the Product Owner, ensuring that the product they built is tailored to business needs. You support Data Governance initiatives with tailored and automated solutions.
Other than that you have:
• Enthusiastic and proactive personality with a data driven mindset, you are able to enthusiast others for your ideas and solutions with your communication skills;
• Consultancy experience and excellent stakeholder management skills;
• Experience in navigating in large organizations and a complex stakeholder environment;
• Proven experience (2-3 years) as senior data engineer in a Data Management / Data Governance environment;
• Extensive knowledge of Collibra in an Enterprise Environment;
• Extensive knowledge of Data Quality Concepts and Tooling;
• Extensive knowledge of Data Management & Governance, preferably DAMA DMBOK;
• Basic knowledge of Data Platforms.
Nice to have:
• Collibra Solution Architect or Ranger certificate;
• DAMA DMBOK Certified;
• Affinity and experience with the aviation industry.
