What you'll need to have
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with 5+ years of experience, preferrable with Quarkus, but Spring Boot is also fine. The ideal candidate should have some experience with other platforms such as NodeJS, Typescript, Python, or Golang as well. You do not need to be as fluent as you are in Java, but we appreciate the diverse mental model and design approach that having experience with other platforms brings. We expect you to have experience with JPA/Panache, Mapstruct, RestEasy, OpenAPI spec and Database modelling and would be very much appreciated if you also have experience with DDD and SOLID principles (Clean Architecture) with some practical Production examples.
In addition to the above development skills, we are looking for someone with some hands-on experience with observability, more specifically OTEL instrumentation, Grafana/Prometheus, and Event Driven architecture. It will be fabulous if also you bring some good stories about troubleshooting production issues through log digging and metrics wrangling.
In the soft skills side, we are looking for someone with effective communication, focused on getting things working for the clients/users and, most important, opened to changes and letting go when needed. This is a prerequisite in the environment we are at. We value strong opinions loosely held, meaning that you will find a respectful space to bring your point of views, defend your proposals and visions and we expect you to be easy going when changing your mind. You can also expect that from us, of course.
In our culture, a welcoming attitude is more important than a consultancy attitude. So, we look for someone that is willing to collaborate, grow and get things done together, pairing, making mistakes and celebrations together. We do not push you to have answers for everything and opinion in every subject, rather, we expect you to share and drive when you feel confident to do so.
A day in your life with us
As a senior software engineer on a team that is building a global scale solution, you will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders from different areas from the company geographically located on different countries to deliver a high-quality solution that has its own particularities but follows a strong engineering baseline. You will work on a Product driven team, collaborating on technical tasks, from prioritization and design to implementation and release. It is expected that you bring good insights and hands-on knowledge about what is being developed and what will come next. You will have a key role when outlining the work to be done, balancing time, quality and effort.
In your routine, you can expect much more implementation related activities, from coding, to documenting decisions, designing, and sharing knowledge with the team than meetings or reporting.
On the day-to-day, you will be interacting with people from Product and Engineering from inside and outside of the team, tackling tasks planned for the sprint (we use Scrum) and aligning vision and next sprint priorities. We have an asynchronous communication culture, prioritizing eventual interactions over meetings, with a few pre-scheduled ones.

Studies show that members of underrepresented communities don't apply for jobs unless they're 100% "qualified". If this is part of the reason you hesitate to apply, we like you to reconsider and give it a chance. Maybe your profile fits our needs much better than you think.
