Tasks
- Assist with daily stock counts and cycle counts
- Help update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Check stock accuracy and report discrepancies
- Support labeling, tagging, and organizing inventory
- Help inspect incoming goods for quantity and quality
- Assist in preparing outgoing orders (picking, packing, documentation)
- Verify delivery notes, invoices, and packing lists
- Support coordination between warehouse staff and drivers
- Observe and support warehouse layout optimization
- Help maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Assist in monitoring stock movement and storage conditions
- Learn how to operate basic warehouse tools (barcode scanners, handheld devices)
- Enter data into inventory or ERP systems
- Prepare simple reports (stock levels, damaged goods, daily movements)
- File and organize warehouse documents
- Support communication between warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams
Qualifications
- Matric certificate with passes in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Basic understanding of business, accounting, or computer applications (advantageous)
- Willingness to learn logistics and warehouse operations
- BCom in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, or Accounting
- Understanding of inventory control, stock management, and business processes
- Exposure to ERP/WMS systems through coursework is an advantage
- Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
