Payroll Clerk

Nottinghamshire | Permanent | Full Time / 4 Days / Flexible Hours

SF Partners is working with a well-established and growing business based in Nottinghamshire to recruit a Payroll Clerk on a permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who is looking to take ownership of a busy weekly payroll and become a key part of the wider finance team.

The role will primarily focus on managing a weekly payroll for a large workforce, with additional involvement in HR administration and reporting. There is some flexibility around working hours, so the role could suit someone looking for full-time hours, a four-day week or potentially school-hour flexibility.

The role

You will take responsibility for the end-to-end weekly payroll process, including:

Downloading and reviewing weekly time and attendance records
Checking attendance information against shift records and resolving discrepancies
Finalising agency timesheets for submission
Uploading payroll information into Sage Payroll
Processing overtime, shift bonuses, holiday and sickness payments
Preparing payroll for approval and subsequent banking upload
Maintaining accurate employee change records
Producing ad hoc payroll reports for senior finance
Supporting with HR administration, including filing, headcount reporting and gender pay gap reporting
Working closely with Finance, HR and operational managers to resolve payroll queries

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in weekly payroll processing
Confident working with high-volume payroll data
Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the payroll process
Professional and confident when dealing with managers and internal stakeholders
Resilient and able to work to strict weekly deadlines
Confident using Excel
Ideally experienced with Sage Payroll and time & attendance systems
