Estimator – Commercial Construction

A well-established building contractor operating across Devon and Somerset is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team.
The business delivers a broad range of new build and refurbishment commercial projects, with tender values typically up to £5M. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a reputable regional contractor with a strong pipeline of secured and repeat business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, managing enquiries, and supporting the continued growth of the business across the South West.

The Role
Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
Produce bills of quantities and cost plans
Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams throughout the tender process
Support handovers to operational teams following successful bidsProject Types

Previous experience working as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and pricing
Experience working on projects up to £5M
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organisational skills
