A highly reputable and well-invested FMCG manufacturer based in Corby is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their night shift team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, fast-paced production environment with strong investment in both people and equipment.
The Role
As a Night Shift Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment during night operations. Working 12-hour shifts, you'll play a critical role in keeping downtime to a minimum and ensuring production targets are consistently met.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively
Supporting production teams with breakdown resolution and equipment optimisation
Working on a range of automated FMCG production and packaging machinery
Driving continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
Completing accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance standards are met
Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and food safety at all times
About You
You will be a skilled and proactive engineer with strong multi-skilled capability and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You should be confident working independently on nights and taking ownership of technical issues.
You will ideally have:
Engineering apprenticeship or relevant level 3 engineering qualification
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
FMCG, food, or high-volume manufacturing experience
PLC fault-finding ability (advantageous)
A calm, solution-focused approach under pressure
Good communication skills and strong teamwork when handing over shifts
