How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.

Location: Hybrid - South West (Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton & surrounding areas)
Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role:
Trigon Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Adult Social Care Tutor / Health & Social Care Assessor to join a leading training provider delivering high-quality vocational training across the adult social care sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assessor, Tutor, Trainer or Adult Social Care professional who is passionate about developing people and supporting learners to achieve nationally recognised qualifications.
You will be responsible for delivering and assessing Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5, supporting learners throughout their qualification journey and helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed within the sector.
The role operates on a hybrid basis, combining remote delivery and learner support via Microsoft Teams with regular face-to-face learner visits across Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding areas.
For candidates with strong occupational experience who do not yet hold an assessing qualification, full support and funding towards relevant assessor qualifications will be available.
 
Key Responsibilities
Teaching, Training & Assessment

Deliver high-quality Adult Social Care and Health & Social Care qualifications up to Level 5.
Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred training sessions using a blended learning approach.
Assess learner work against qualification and awarding organisation requirements.
Provide constructive, timely and developmental feedback to learners.
Adapt teaching, learning and assessment approaches to meet individual learner needs.
Support learners to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required within adult social care.
Ensure learners can effectively apply their learning within their workplace and professional practice. Learner Support & Progression

Complete initial and diagnostic assessments to identify learner needs, starting points and development areas.
Develop and review individual learning plans and objectives.
Manage an allocated caseload of learners, monitoring progress against agreed targets.
Provide regular coaching, mentoring and guidance throughout the learner journey.
Identify barriers to learning and implement appropriate support strategies.
Motivate learners and provide the encouragement required to achieve timely completion.
Build strong, professional relationships with learners, employers and other key stakeholders.
Support learners to achieve their qualifications and progress within their careers. Quality, Compliance & Administration

Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records, assessment documentation and e-portfolio evidence.
Ensure all assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable and compliant with awarding organisation requirements.
Work within relevant funding, regulatory and quality requirements.
Contribute to internal and external quality assurance activities.
Participate in standardisation and moderation activities where required.
Maintain appropriate evidence of learner progress and achievement.
Promote and adhere to safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion policies.
Ensure all learner documentation and records are completed accurately and within required timescales. Delivery & Regional Travel

Deliver a combination of remote sessions via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face learner support.
Undertake regular workplace/learner visits, typically 2-3 visits per programme, depending on learner location and programme requirements.
Travel across Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding areas.
Manage your diary effectively to balance remote delivery, assessment activity, learner visits and administration.

Fully Funded Professional Development
If you have strong occupational experience within Adult Social Care but do not currently hold an assessor qualification, full support will be provided towards achieving the relevant assessing qualification.
Where applicable, there will also be an opportunity to work towards an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.

Essential Criteria

Hold a Level 5 or above qualification in Adult Social Care / Health & Social Care or an equivalent relevant sector qualification.
Hold a recognised teaching or assessing qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent; OR have strong relevant occupational experience and a willingness to achieve the required assessor qualification with full support.
Experience of delivering, assessing or supporting learners undertaking Adult Social Care / Health & Social Care qualifications.
Strong understanding of the adult social care sector and current workplace practices.
Experience managing a learner caseload and monitoring learner progress.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Confident using Microsoft Teams, digital learning platforms and e-portfolio systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A learner-focused, supportive and motivational approach.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Willingness and ability to travel across the South West region. Desirable Criteria

Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
Experience delivering and assessing qualifications up to Level 5.
Recent occupational experience within an adult social care setting.
Experience working with apprentices or work-based learners.
Experience delivering training and assessment within a blended or hybrid learning environment.
Knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and vocational assessment practices.
Experience working within a funded learning, apprenticeship or adult skills environment. Additional Information

Working Model: Hybrid - remote delivery combined with face-to-face learner visits.
Location: Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding areas.
Travel: Regular regional travel is required.
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
