Our client is a well-established and growing marine business seeking a Marine-biased Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a hands-on role focused on the build, installation, and commissioning of marine engineering systems, working in line with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
You will be responsible for the preparation, assembly, and installation of a wide range of onboard mechanical systems. This role requires a strong practical skillset, attention to detail, and the ability to work from technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
•Installation and fitting of general marine systems, including:
•Hydraulics
•Plumbing systems (fresh water, grey water, black water, and domestic systems)
•Air conditioning and HVAC systems
•Gas systems
•Engines, gearboxes, and final drive components
•Carry out engine alignment and mechanical assembly
•Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
•Install and maintain piping and cooling systems, including freshwater cooling
•Support build and fit-out processes to ensure projects are delivered to quality and safety standards
•Conduct fault finding and problem-solving on mechanical systems
Skills & Experience Required
•Previous experience in marine, automotive, or aerospace engineering
•Strong manufacturing or production background (highly desirable if non-marine)
•Proven experience in mechanical fitting and system installation
•Experience with:
•HVAC systems
•Piping and plumbing installations
•Freshwater cooling systems
•Onboard appliances (galley/kitchen systems)
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
•Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
•Good attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
