Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care

Salary: £38,000–£43,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus performance-related bonus and additional payment for on-call duties

GoodOaks Homecare Bedford is looking for an ambitious care leader with domiciliary or homecare management experience to lead our established visiting and live-in care service.
You will join an experienced team, a loyal client base and a business with a strong local reputation for personalised care. This is an opportunity to build on solid foundations—not a turnaround role.
Working closely with an involved and supportive Director, you will have the autonomy to lead the service, develop your team and help grow the business across Bedford and the surrounding area.

Your role
As Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the quality, compliance and day-to-day operation of the service. Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the CQC Registered Manager and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and adult social-care legislation.
*
Leading, supporting and developing the care and office teams through recruitment, induction, supervision and appraisal.
*
Overseeing client consultations, assessments, care planning, risk assessments and new-client onboarding.
*
Maintaining high standards through audits, spot checks, observations and ongoing quality assurance.
*
Managing safeguarding concerns, complaints and feedback, using learning to improve the service.
*
Supporting effective rota management, safe staffing and continuity of care.
*
Building trusted relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals, commissioners and community partners.
*
Working with the Director to develop referral networks and grow our visiting and live-in care services.
*
Participating in the shared out-of-hours on-call rota, with additional payment.
What you will bring
Management or senior leadership experience within domiciliary care or homecare is essential.
You will also need:
*
Practical knowledge of homecare operations, including assessments, care planning, rotas, staffing, quality assurance and on-call responsibilities.

Experience within CQC-regulated adult social care and a strong understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements.
*
Experience managing safeguarding, compliance, complaints and service improvement.
*
The ability to motivate, develop and hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive working culture.
*
Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
*
Confidence making decisions, taking responsibility and responding calmly to changing priorities.
*
Commercial awareness and a commitment to growing the service without compromising care quality.
*
A valid driving licence permitting you to drive in the UK and access to a car for work-related travel.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent qualification, is highly desirable. We will also consider candidates who are working towards the qualification or have suitable experience and are willing to complete it.
