The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are seeking experienced Tunnelling Site Engineers to join our growing team delivering major underground infrastructure projects across the North West and North of the UK. These projects will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the water industry's AMP8 investment programme, providing critical infrastructure improvements across the region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex tunnelling, shaft sinking, and water sector schemes within a dynamic, collaborative, and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee daily site engineering activities on tunnelling and shaft sinking projects.
* Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
* Set out works and maintain accurate survey control.
* Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
* Monitor construction progress and ensure quality standards are achieved.
* Maintain site records, as-built documentation, and engineering reports.
* Liaise with clients, designers, and project management teams.
* Support project planning, programme delivery, and cost control initiatives.
Essential Requirements
* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer within the tunnelling sector.
* Demonstrable experience in shaft sinking operations.
* Strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
* Competent in setting out and surveying techniques.
* Good understanding of temporary works, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and work across multiple project locations.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience working on projects delivered under UK water industry frameworks.
* Experience with TBM, SCL, microtunnelling, or other underground construction techniques.
* CSCS Card.
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
* Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor training.
* First Aid qualification.
