Propelahed is a growing performance marketing agency working with ambitious early-stage and scaling businesses. We help clients grow through a mix of SEO, paid media, content, analytics and modern AI-powered martech - combining hands-on execution with clear thinking and experimentation.
We're a small, fast-moving team where everyone is close to the work. We're scaling quickly and these are ground-floor hires that will shape how the agency operates.
The Role
This is a genuinely hybrid role and that's by design. We're not looking for a pure business development hire and we're not looking for a pure marketer. We want someone who understands that the best agencies grow through the quality of their thinking and the strength of their relationships - and who can operate on both sides of that equation.
Roughly half your time will be focused on clients: strategy, content and campaign communications. The other half will be focused on Propelahed's own growth: building pipeline, developing our profile, producing thought leadership and supporting the founder in winning new business.
You'll work closely with the founder and have real input into how the agency develops.
Key Responsibilities
- Client delivery
- Lead content strategy and execution for a selection of client accounts
- Write high-quality copy across formats: long-form, web, social, email and more
- Support campaign planning and communications strategy for clients where relevant
- Contribute to client reporting and the narrative around performance and results
- Be a senior, thoughtful presence in client relationships
Agency growth
- Build and execute Propelahed's own content and thought leadership programme
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, outreach and referral activity
- Support the founder on pitches, proposals and commercial conversations
- Develop credentials, case studies and positioning materials that showcase our work
- Represent Propelahed at industry events and actively build the agency's reputation in Bristol and beyond
- Help define and sharpen Propelahed's point of view in a crowded market
Must Have
- 5 or more years of experience in marketing, content, growth or business development - agency experience strongly preferred
- An exceptional writer, comfortable across formats and able to adapt tone and voice for different audiences
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in new business - not just execution
- A natural connector who builds relationships easily and is energised by it
- Strategic thinker who can also operate at the detail level when needed
- A self-starter - this role requires initiative, not instructions
- Confident presenting and representing the agency in front of prospects and clients
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
- Existing network in the Bristol or wider UK marketing and business community
- Experience running events, webinars or community programmes
- Background in SEO or content marketing strategy
- Familiarity with CRM tools and outbound prospecting workflows
- Experience with AI tools for content production and research
- Experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment
