The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Techniche Global is supporting a leading provider of critical power and electrical protection systems based in Newport Pagnell in appointing a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Due to continued growth and recent contract wins, our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team, designing bespoke heavy-duty electrical enclosures for applications across defence, marine, power and other highly regulated industries.
What we're looking for:
Experience in mechanical design of bespoke engineered products
Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
Experience creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings
Knowledge of sheet metal, folded and welded structures is advantageous
HNC/HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification
Strong communication and problem-solving skills Key responsibilities:
Design bespoke heavy-duty electrical enclosures and associated mechanical systems
Work across the full product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture
Modify and update existing designs to meet customer and regulatory requirements
Liaise with customers and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
Support engineering reviews, design improvements and technical problem solving
Due to the nature of current projects, applicants must be UK nationals or dual nationals and eligible for BPSS clearance.
