How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Graduate Electromagnetic Warfare Engineer - St Neots or Lincoln

Help shape the future of Electronic Warfare

Join one of the UK's leading specialist Electronic Warfare teams and start your career developing technology that helps protect the people protecting us.

Every radar, radio, drone, GPS signal and wireless communication relies on the electromagnetic spectrum. Electronic Warfare helps ensure friendly forces can use it while denying adversaries the same advantage.

Why MASS?

At MASS, you'll work alongside more than 80 engineers, scientists and former military personnel developing world-leading Electronic Warfare software, products and specialist services.

Working in purpose-built facilities designed to develop, test and evaluate advanced defence capabilities, you'll contribute to meaningful projects from day one while learning from experts in one of defence's fastest-evolving technical disciplines.

Why this opportunity?

Our Electronic Warfare Operations Support (EWOS) Group is growing, and we're looking for graduates who are curious, analytical and excited by solving complex technical problems.

Over two years you'll work across different specialist teams, helping deliver real defence capability while discovering where your strengths and interests can make the biggest impact.

By the end of the programme, you won't just have completed a graduate scheme, you'll have contributed to technology that helps protect the people protecting us, while building a career in one of defence's most exciting technical fields.

What you'll experience

During the programme you'll work across a range of specialist disciplines including:

* Solution Architecture – designing complex Electronic Warfare systems.

* Synthetic Environment Test Engineering – developing and testing capabilities in our Hardware-in-the-Loop facilities.

* Modelling, Simulation & Analysis – modelling real-world Electronic Warfare scenarios.

* Hardware Acceleration – deploying advanced algorithms onto FPGA and GPU technologies.

* Training – helping develop and deliver specialist Electronic Warfare training.

* Technical Sales – supporting customer engagement and future capability development.

Alongside real customer projects, you'll complete our Spectrum Warfare Specialist Course and Early Careers Programme, giving you the technical and professional foundations to build your career.

Where you'll work

You'll be based in St Neots or Lincoln, working in collaborative engineering teams. Where project requirements allow, we support a blend of office and home working.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who enjoy solving problems, asking questions and learning new things.

If this opportunity excites you but you don't meet every point below, we'd still encourage you to apply.

Essential

* A degree in a STEM subject.

Through your studies, you'll likely have developed analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills that will help you succeed in this role.

It would be beneficial if you also have knowledge of:

* Electronics or radio frequency physics

* Programming (MATLAB, Python or JavaScript)

* Electronic Warfare or Radar Systems

* Computer hardware, networking or interfaces

What you’ll take from this scheme

You'll leave the programme with far more than a graduate job on your CV. You'll have worked on leading-edge defence challenges, and developed specialist Electronic Warfare expertise in one of the UK's most advanced environments for defence technology.

You'll also receive:

Starting salary of £30,000, rising to £36,000 through structured six-monthly reviews | Private Medical Insurance | Two pension schemes | Flexible annual leave including December shutdown | Professional development and funded learning | Share Save scheme | Electric Vehicle & Cycle to Work schemes | Retail discounts and more.

Our non-negotiables

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects you'll be working on, you'll need to be a UK National, and eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.

Who is MASS?

MASS is an independent, global technology company, trusted by highly-secure organisations to provide advanced, digital services that manage data and keep information safe. With our heritage in defence, we offer robust solutions to sectors where security expertise is essential.

We work in partnership with customers, using skilled, technical experts. We think innovatively to provide tailored, agile and resilient solutions that secure advantage, so you're ready for digital transformation.
