General Operative

Salary: £28,186.33
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours
42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable General Operative to join our team, preparing vacant properties to a high standard ready for new residents. Working across a range of residential properties, you will carry out deep cleaning activities, ensure properties meet lettable standards, and support the organisation in providing safe, clean, and welcoming homes.
This is a varied role that involves travelling between properties, working both independently and as part of a team, and always maintaining excellent quality standards.
Duties:
Carry out deep cleans of vacant houses, flats, and maisonettes.
Clean and sanitise kitchens, including cupboards, worktops, sinks, tiles, and appliances where applicable.
Deep clean bathrooms and toilets, including descaling, disinfecting, and removing mould and limescale.
Wash down walls, doors, skirting boards, and other internal surfaces as required.
Clean internal windows, frames, and windowsills.
Vacuum, mop, and treat a variety of flooring types.
Remove cobwebs, dust, and debris from properties and communal areas.
Remove and dispose of minor waste in line with company procedures.
Complete final quality inspections to ensure properties meet lettable standards.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or repair requirements to the supervisor.
Capture before and after photographs where required.
Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
Load, unload, and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ensure company vehicles and equipment are clean, organised, and well-stocked.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete properties within agreed timescales.Key Criteria:
Previous experience in domestic, commercial, void, or deep cleaning environments.
Good understanding of hygiene standards and safe cleaning practices.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional in your approach.
Flexible to travel between multiple locations and adapt to changing workloads.
