Polytec are looking for a hands-on Test Technician to join our south Cambridgeshire based client.
Responsibilities
- Support the team with project testing and help to meet testing deadlines and milestones
- Get involved in a wide range of projects, from early research and development through to design verification testing and investigations of products already on the market
- Follow health and safety procedures when working with hazardous chemicals, pharmaceutical products and other materials or equipment used during testing
- Carry out a variety of mechanical and functional tests
- Get involved in other testing activities where needed, including electronic testing and assembly, handling animal by-products, using specialist test rigs and working with pressurised systems
- Carry out testing in line with approved test methods and protocols
- Record test results and produce accurate, reliable test data to the required quality standards
Requirements
Essential
- Interested in working in the medical device industry
- Experience of recording test results and producing accurate test data
- A-Level or equivalent qualification in Maths
- A good understanding of at least one scientific subject
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well as part of a team and support colleagues when needed
- Good time management skills and the ability to adapt when priorities change
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing a busy workload
Desirable
- Previous experience of carrying out laboratory or practical testing
- Experience of working in line with health and safety procedures
- Basic knowledge of Excel, including using formulas and rounding numbers correctly
- A qualification in Statistics, or a good understanding of basic statistical principles
- Experience of preparing or delivering presentations
