We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Project Architect to lead the architectural delivery of a significant Shell & Core refurbishment and redevelopment project involving a Grade II Listed Building.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the project from design development through to technical delivery and construction, working closely with the Client, Conservation Officer, consultants, contractors and wider project team.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong architectural leadership, excellent technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of working within the constraints and opportunities associated with listed buildings, heritage assets and complex refurbishment projects.
The Project Architect will be expected to take ownership of the architectural package, coordinate the design team and ensure that the project is delivered to the required quality, programme, budget and statutory requirements.
Technical Responsibilities

Lead the production and review of detailed technical and construction information.

Ensure drawings, specifications and schedules are coordinated and issued in accordance with the project programme.

Review construction details for compliance, buildability and design intent.
*
Coordinate interfaces between structure, façade, services, fire strategy and future fit-out.
*
Review contractor and specialist subcontractor technical submissions.
*
Assist with design changes, variations and technical queries.
*
Maintain a high standard of technical documentation throughout the project
Desirable:
*
Experience delivering Shell & Core or CAT A projects.
*
Experience with Grade II or Grade II* Listed buildings.
*
Experience on complex commercial, residential, hospitality or mixed-use developments.
*
Experience with Design & Build procurement.
*
Experience working with Conservation Officers and heritage consultants.
*
Knowledge of NBS specifications and UK construction contracts
Salary description
£60000.00 - £70000.00 per year
