TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist residential setting in Choppington that provides therapeutic care and support for children and young people aged 7 to 14. The home is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every child is encouraged to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes through consistent, relationship-based support.
We are looking to recruit a dedicated Overnight Residential Support Worker. Working waking nights from 9:00pm to 9:30am, including weekends, the successful Overnight Residential Support Worker will support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, maintaining structured routines, promoting emotional wellbeing, and ensuring a safe environment throughout the night. Experience within children's residential care or SEMH/therapeutic school settings is essential, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
The successful Overnight Residential Support Worker will have:
• Experience working within children's residential care or SEMH/therapeutic education settings
• A good understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Experience supporting children and young people aged 7 to 14
• Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
• A positive, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting young people
