Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for secondary schools across Warrington, with daily supply, short-term and longer-term positions available.
The role is particularly well suited to people who are confident leading groups and maintaining a calm classroom environment. You do not need to be a qualified teacher, making this an excellent route into education for graduates and experienced professionals from other backgrounds.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for a classroom when the usual teacher is unavailable. Lessons are generally prepared in advance, allowing you to concentrate on delivery, student engagement and behaviour management.
Typical duties include:
Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
Maintaining appropriate classroom expectations
Supporting students with their work
Managing low-level behaviour effectively
Reporting any issues or concerns to teaching staffWe regularly speak to candidates with backgrounds in sport, coaching, youth work, tutoring, performing arts, leadership and other people-facing professions who make excellent Cover Supervisors.
