UAV REMOTE PILOT (ROTARY WING)
UAV Talent is looking for Remote Pilots with a rotary-wing background to support a large VTOL UAV fleet on critical UAS operations. A flying background brings the airmanship, airspace awareness and decision-making that these operations rely on.
You will run live flights, manage problems as they come up and keep operations safe and compliant. The role involves a mix of UK and overseas work, with around half your time spent in the field working hands-on with advanced UAV platforms. You will also feed back on system performance to help improve the aircraft.
The role suits experienced UAS pilots, and licensed helicopter pilots looking to move into unmanned aviation.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) in executing live UAS missions
• Conduct all flight operations safely, within regulatory compliance and fully documented
• Lead safety procedures before, during and after every flight
• Troubleshoot and provide direct support during emergencies or technical issues
• Coach and support junior operators, embedding best practice
• Feed operational insight back into product development
• Maintain proficiency and readiness across all key platforms
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A rotary-wing flying background is highly valued. PPL(H) or PPL(A) holders are encouraged to apply, with PPL(H) preferred given the VTOL nature of the fleet
• Military rotary-wing pilots looking to transition into UAS are welcome
• Completed UAS ground school with hands-on flight experience
• Sound grasp of meteorology and both controlled and uncontrolled airspace
• Holds A1/A3 as a minimum (CAA/EASA); A2 CofC preferred
• Radiotelephony certified, with clear and effective communication
• Experience on larger or long-endurance UAS platforms is an advantage, but not essential
• Composed under pressure, reliable and focused on mission success
• Fluent English (C2 level or above)
• Applicants must be sole UK nationals and eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
WHAT IS ON OFFER
• Work with advanced UAV platforms on operationally significant tasks
• A mix of UK and overseas deployment, varied and hands-on
• Comprehensive medical cover and a competitive, experience-based salary
