CMA is partnering with a well-established and ambitious organisation seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical ability and finance experience who is looking to broaden their exposure across management accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end activities.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
Supporting month-end close processes and management accounting activities
Performing reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies proactively
Assisting with intercompany accounting and balance reviews
Supporting audit preparation and ensuring accurate financial records
Analysing financial data and identifying trends or variances
Working closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and wider finance teams
Contributing to finance process improvements and operational efficiencies
Supporting a busy finance function within a high-volume environment
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:
Experience within a finance or accounting environment
Strong analytical mindset with good problem-solving capability
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Comfortable working within a fast-paced SME environment
Strong Excel and general systems skills
Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Positive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to work
Exposure to reconciliations, journals, or month-end processes advantageous
AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA beneficial but not essential
