Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Field Service Engineer role
Working with the Service & Operations team you will:
Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC chargers at client sites.
Conduct initial set up and testing to ensure correct operation and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with the project management and installation teams to ensure seamless integration of charging stations with client infrastructure.
Maintain company assets, tools, and test equipment in good working order and report any defects immediately.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including electrical, mechanical and software-related problems.
Conduct diagnostic tests, firmware updates and calibration of EV chargers as necessary.
Replace faulty components and occasionally entire AC chargers. Ensure that all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacture guidelines.
Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on the use and operation of EV chargers.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
JIB Gold Card approved electrician (including AM2 pass)
18th edition certified
City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualified
Valid UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
Personal skills
The Electrical Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:
Experienced working under SLA-driven environments
Able to manage time effectively while travelling between sites
Able to work independently on client sites and resolve technical issues without direct supervision
