How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

UKCBC is seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of School to provide academic and operational leadership for a portfolio of higher education programmes and partnerships.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an ambitious higher education professional who is passionate about academic excellence, student success, quality enhancement, and educational innovation. Reporting to the Director of Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational direction, performance, and sustainability of the School while contributing to the College's wider strategic and regulatory ambitions.

About the Role

As Head of School, you will:

• Drive academic quality, standards, and continuous improvement across programmes.

• Monitor and improve student continuation, completion, engagement, and progression outcomes.

• Act as the senior academic liaison for awarding body and university partners.

• Lead, develop, and inspire academic teams, ensuring effective workforce planning and resource management.

• Oversee School performance, risk management, and improvement initiatives.

• Contribute to institutional governance, regulatory readiness, and strategic decision-making.

You will also be accountable for ensuring that provision is academically rigorous, operationally effective, appropriately resourced, aligned with regulatory requirements, and focused on delivering excellent student outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative educational leader with:

Essential Requirements

• Significant leadership experience within higher education, including responsibility for academic programmes, schools, departments, or subject portfolios.

• Strong knowledge of academic quality assurance, regulatory requirements, and Office for Students (OfS) expectations.

• Experience of delivering measurable improvements in student outcomes.

• Experience of leading provision delivered through franchised, validated, or partnership arrangements.

• Educational budget management and workforce planning experience.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use performance data to drive improvement.

• Experience of leading, managing, and developing academic teams.

• Experience contributing to institutional governance and quality processes.

Desirable Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification (Level 7 or above).

• Doctoral qualification or evidence of sustained scholarly activity.

• Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (or equivalent).

• Experience leading provision through regulatory or partner review processes.

What You will Bring

You will demonstrate:

• Strategic thinking and sound professional judgement.

• Educational credibility and academic leadership.

• Evidence-informed decision-making.

• A commitment to inclusive and applied education.

• The ability to balance academic quality, student experience, and financial sustainability.

What We Offer

• A senior educational leadership role with significant influence on the direction and success of the School.

• The opportunity to shape educational quality, student outcomes, and institutional performance.

• Involvement in strategic decision-making and regulatory readiness activities.

• Professional development and career progression opportunities within a growing higher education provider.
