You will work closely with operational and departmental managers, providing financial guidance, challenging performance and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis.
* Produce P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
* Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities.
* Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals and prepayments.
* Complete accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
* Lead and support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
* Prepare financial models and scenario analysis to support business planning.
* Monitor business performance against budgets and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
* Work closely with department managers as a finance business partner, providing financial guidance and constructive challenge.
* Translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
* Analyse revenue, costs, margins and operational performance.
* Identify opportunities for improved profitability and cost control.
* Prepare ad-hoc reports and management information as required.
* Support business cases, investment appraisals and capital expenditure reviews.
* Identify financial risks and opportunities that may impact business performance.
* Review and improve financial processes, reporting systems and controls.
* Drive efficiencies through automation and process improvement.
* Support finance transformation projects and implementation of new systems.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Management Accountant with a strong understanding of management accounting, financial reporting and commercial analysis. We’re particularly interested in candidates who have worked within a manufacturing, food manufacturing, FMCG or other operationally focused business, with business partnering and project accounting experience who understand the relationship between finance and day-to-day operations
