A thriving secondary school in Rugby is seeking an outstanding English Teacher to join its successful and ambitious English department.
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for literature, language, and learning. You will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that bring texts to life and encourage students to think critically, creatively, and independently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Teaching engaging and challenging lessons that foster a passion for reading and writing.
Encouraging students to analyse, interpret, and evaluate a range of literary and non-fiction texts.
Supporting students in developing excellent literacy, communication, and presentation skills.
Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
Using innovative teaching approaches to engage students of all abilities.
Contributing to curriculum planning and the continued development of the English department.
Providing intervention and support for students preparing for GCSE examinations.
Maintaining high standards of behaviour, achievement, and attendance.
Taking an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, clubs, educational visits, and whole-school events.
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Have a degree in English or a related subject.
Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
Have the ability to inspire students and foster a love of reading, writing, and literature.
Be committed to raising achievement and standards for all learners.
Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
Be enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to contribute to school life.
Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
