The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Service Service is recruiting for a Bids & Proposals Engineer on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Norwich. The successful candidate will take ownership of the bid and proposal process from initial enquiry through to submission, working closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams to deliver accurate and competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and manage RFIs and RFQs from initial enquiry through to submission
* Work closely with sales, engineering, commercial, and operations teams to gather technical and commercial information
* Develop detailed and compliant bid documentation, pricing models, and technical responses
* Coordinate bid review meetings and support bid/no bid decision processes
* Maintain CRM systems and support proposal tracking activities
* Participate in customer discussions and negotiations where required
* Ensure proposals comply with company standards, procedures, and ISO requirements
About You
* Previous experience within bids, proposals, estimations, or commercial project support
* Understanding of Bills of Materials (BoMs) and technical documentation
* Experience managing proposals, tenders, or PQQs
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Confident working across multiple departments and managing deadlines
* Experience using CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office systems
* Engineering or technical background advantageous
