Position Overview
The Quality FAIRS Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet stringent aerospace and customer-specific requirements through the accurate creation and verification of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
Working within the Quality function, this role supports product realisation by upholding AS9100 traceability, regulatory compliance, and documented quality processes.
The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for AS9102 documentation, providing objective evidence of compliance, identifying non‑conformances, and helping maintain the integrity of the Quality Management System.
This is a detail‑oriented role requiring strong technical drawing interpretation skills, a high level of accuracy, and previous experience within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce AS9102 FAIR reports in accordance with the latest revision.
* Independently complete Forms 1, 2, and 3 using customer data packs, drawings, and ERP system information.
* Interpret PCB and mechanical drawings accurately.
* Adhere to AS9100 traceability and documentation requirements.
* Balloon and verify drawing notes using acceptable verification methods, recording results and controls used.
* Review, understand, and validate concessions where applicable.
* Provide technical clarity and objective evidence when demonstrating compliance or identifying non‑compliance.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience within the aerospace industry in a quality-focused role.
* Demonstrable experience producing AS9102 FAIRs to the latest revision.
* Strong understanding of verification methods and documentation controls.
* Ability to interpret customer drawings and ensure alignment with customer and industry standards.
Desirable Qualifications & Certifications
* ISO9001 knowledge or certification
* AS9100 familiarity
* AS9102 qualification
* NADCAP AC7120 (or similar)
