Job Title: Accountant

Location: Kendal

For an on-site opportunity with one of Adecco's clients, we are recruiting an Accountant to oversee the accounting functions for two affiliated companies. In this role, you will manage end-to-end accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure timely reporting to both internal stakeholders and external regulators. The position involves regular use of Sage accounting software, detailed data input into back-office systems, and preparation of quarterly management accounts. You will also work closely with external accountants on monthly payroll and annual accounts preparation. This role is suited to a candidate who is comfortable taking ownership of accounting processes and collaborating with external partners.

What You Will Do?

Manage the accounting functions for both companies, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
Use Sage accounting software on a regular basis to process transactions and maintain up-to-date ledgers and other core financial data.
Input financial and payroll-related data into back-office systems with accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established internal procedures.
Prepare quarterly management accounts for review by leadership, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and explanatory commentary where required.
Liaise with external accountants regarding monthly payroll, ensuring correct data submission and timely processing for all employees.
Coordinate with external accountants on annual accounts preparation, supplying required documentation and responding to queries promptly and clearly.
Prepare reports for external regulators, compiling necessary information and ensuring that all regulatory submissions are complete and submitted on time.

Your Skills

Experience managing accounting functions for more than one company, with the ability to handle parallel financial workflows effectively.
Proficiency using Sage accounting software, including transaction processing, reporting, and routine accounting tasks within the system.
Strong capability in inputting financial data into back-office systems, maintaining data integrity and following established control procedures.
Familiarity with preparing quarterly management accounts, including reconciliations, summaries, and supporting documentation for review.
Ability to liaise professionally with external accountants regarding monthly payroll and annual accounts preparation, providing clear and accurate information.
