The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
My client is currently looking for a Machinist / Toolmaker to join their small friendly team on a permanent basis.
Based in Barrow upon Soar, they supports various sectors in their mechanical engineering and machining requirements, producing one offs, small batches, prototypes, repairs and refurbishments.
A strong mechanical engineering background is essential due to the varied work undertaken.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes.
Experience to include:
* Milling
* Turning
* Read and interpret engineering drawings
* Work to tight tolerances
* Carry out own inspection
Desirable:
* Boring
* Surface grinding
* Assembly
* Welding / Light Fabrication.
* Fork Lift
Outline of Job Duties:
1. To manufacture high quality components in an efficient manufacture, to drawing specifications with minimum supervision.
2. Use engineering knowledge to reverse engineer and find solutions to solve engineering problems.
3. Quality check own work to ensure high quality parts are manufactured.
4. Contribute to the housekeeping of the workshops, maintaining tidy and clean work areas.
5. Work in an ethical and professional manner at all times as a representative of the company.
6. Flexibility to use other relevant skills and abilities as required.
7. Effective communication with colleagues, customers and project teams.
8. High standards of reliability and punctuality.
9. Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
10. Ability to work using own initiative as well as operate as part of a team.

Hours of work: 39 per week. Part time would be considered.
Monday to Thursday: 7.30 am to 4.30 pm Friday: 7.30 am to 12.30 pm
Holidays: 28 days per annum including Bank and Public Holidays.
Rate of pay: Good rate of pay. Negotiable dependent upon skills and experience
