An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence solicitor to take on a Head of Department position. This is a senior leadership role offering complete flexibility, including the option to work entirely remotely, together with a quality caseload and meaningful client engagement.
This opportunity would suit a senior Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence solicitor, or an experienced litigation lawyer with strong supervisory experience, who is seeking greater autonomy, progression, and flexibility in their next move.
The Role
You will oversee and develop the firm’s Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department, combining fee-earning responsibilities with strategic leadership. This is a pivotal position within the practice, offering genuine influence, independence, and long-term career prospects.
The role includes managing a diverse personal injury caseload alongside selected clinical negligence matters. All files are derived from established, direct work streams.
Fully remote working arrangements are available.
Core Responsibilities
- Leading and growing the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team
- Managing a varied personal injury caseload
- Conducting selected clinical negligence claims
- Supervising and mentoring qualified solicitors within the department
- Upholding high standards of client service and compliance
- Contributing to departmental performance, strategy, and development
The Team Structure
You will head a specialist team of three qualified solicitors, including a part-time practitioner focused on clinical negligence. The department benefits from an established client base, consistent work referrals, and a strong reputation in its field.
Candidate Profile
- Solid technical expertise and strong file management skills
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Demonstrable billing performance
- Capable of working autonomously and managing competing demands
- Strong organisational skills with effective delegation ability
