How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Liaise with the client, local authority, design teams, utility providers and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.

    * Monitor project costs, variations, commercial risks and progress against budget, working closely with the commercial team.

    * Identify and mitigate construction risks, programme delays and technical challenges.

    * Ensure accurate site records, progress reports, permits and project documentation are maintained.

    * Oversee environmental controls and ensure compliance with relevant project and Scottish regulatory requirements.

    * Lead progress meetings, coordinate construction planning and provide regular updates to senior management and the client.

    * Drive a positive health and safety culture and promote continuous improvement across the site team.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Site Agent or in a similar senior management position within civil engineering or highways construction.

    * Demonstrable experience managing highways infrastructure projects from construction through to completion.

    * Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, road construction, pavement works and surfacing.

    * Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent demonstrable experience.

    * Valid CSCS card appropriate to the role.

    * SMSTS certification or equivalent, where required.

    * Strong understanding of construction health and safety legislation, quality management and environmental compliance.

    * Experience managing construction programmes, subcontractors, site teams and project resources.

    * Good commercial awareness, including cost control, variations and resource management.

    * Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works, DMRB and relevant Scottish highways standards, where applicable.

    * Excellent leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

    * Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver works safely, to programme and within budget.

    What's on Offer

    * Opportunity to lead delivery on a highways infrastructure scheme in Stirling.

    * Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

    * Opportunity to work within an established civil engineering and infrastructure environment.

    * Potential for long-term project involvement, subject to project requirements.
