How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Events Manager – Remote / National Events & Exhibitions, c£42k + Excellent Benefits, Remote / Home-based with UK travel

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) is looking for an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning and operational delivery of its key events across the UK.

BASC’s events play an important role in member engagement, public presence, stakeholder relationships, commercial partnerships and the organisation’s profile across the shooting and conservation sector.

This is a varied, hands-on role taking events from initial planning through to on-site delivery and post-event review. You’ll coordinate internal teams, suppliers, contractors and event organisers, manage budgets and logistics, oversee stand design and build, and ensure events are delivered safely and professionally.

    The role

Lead the planning and operational delivery of key events across the UK.
Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements and risk assessments.
Coordinate suppliers, contractors, event organisers and internal teams.
Manage stand build, infrastructure, layouts and on-site execution.
Oversee event health & safety, operational documentation and incident procedures.
Lead staff and volunteer briefings during live events.
Monitor budgets, timelines, risks and delivery against agreed objectives.
Complete post-event reviews and help develop consistent event processes and standards.
    About you

Proven experience managing public, stakeholder, exhibition or member-facing events across multiple locations, together with experience of budgets, suppliers, contractors and venue teams.
Strong project management and organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders, and a calm, hands-on approach in fast-paced event environments.
Experience of Microsoft Project or similar project-management software would be useful, as would experience of CAD or stand-design software.
Your background could be in exhibitions, trade shows, public events, outdoor events, membership organisations, agricultural or countryside shows, or another complex multi-site events environment.
Previous shooting or countryside-sector experience is not essential, although an interest in the sector would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Firearms and shotgun certificates are desirable but not required.
    Please apply, attaching your CV.

Closing date Sunday 8th of November
