How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a successful consumer-focussed tech scale‑up, a cash‑generative SME currently at c.£12m turnover and c.80 staff, looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven owner, supported by a first‑class senior leadership team.

    Its CFO is looking to strengthen the company’s close-knit, growing finance department to best manage the increasing volume and complexity of business generated by c.120,000 product and service customers, increasing presence and advertising spend, plus a constantly developing product range, by appointing to an exciting, new Senior FP&A Analyst role.

    Working closely with CFO and Financial Controller, building the commercial models, pulling data, finding the insight and explaining it in plain English, you'll support the company in scaling from a subscription business into a multi-product, regulated one.

    Your key responsibilities as Senior FP&A Analyst will include:

    Subscription and growth

    - Own subscription metrics: new customers, MRR, churn and retention by cohort, ARPU, LTV:CAC and payback

    - Work hand-in-hand with marketing on paid social, creators, influencers, affiliates and other channels: CAC, ROAS and payback by channel, including where the next pound should go

    - Model pricing, offers, upgrades and add-ons before launch, tracking them after

    - Track affiliate programmes — marketing affiliates and partners who sell products: sales, commission accruals and payouts, margin after commission and return by affiliate

    Products, inventory and raw materials

    - Build the P&L, margin and cash models for physical products and services, including new partners

    - Own inventory and raw-material budgets: forecast usage from sales plans, set purchase plans and track actual use against budget

    - Build product costings (bill of materials, packaging, fulfilment) to show true unit margin

    - Track stock levels, stock days, wastage, write-offs and slow-moving lines; run regular stock reconciliations with Ops

    - Join up Sales, Marketing and Stock plans so campaigns don't outrun supply or leave cash tied up in stock

    - Model supplier, fulfilment and partner costs, terms and settlements

    Planning and reporting

    - Build and run a lean budget and rolling 12–18 month forecast, plus a 13-week cash flow

    - Produce a weekly flash and a monthly KPI pack with clear, short commentary

    - Prepare board numbers with the CFO

    Governance and compliance

    - Put in place strong controls, reconciliations and documentation that fit a fast-moving business

    - Support governance of supplier and affiliate partnerships: clear contracts, settlements, audit trails and reporting, so responsibilities stay with the right party and partner's regulatory requirements are met

    - Get revenue recognition and VAT right across subscriptions, bundles and physical products, working with the CFO and advisers

    Systems and data

    - Pull reliable data from the company’s proprietary app, payments (e.g. Stripe), ad platforms and accounting system

    - Automate reporting with Excel, Power BI or similar so the numbers update themselves

    As Senior FP&A Analyst, you’ll need:

    - Strong, hands-on commercial experience gained in a similar Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Commercial Finance or Management Accounting role - you build models and dashboards yourself and enjoy being hands-on every day

    - Strong understanding of subscription or SaaS economics (MRR, churn, cohorts, LTV:CAC), ideally gained in a scaling, marketing-led, social-first or D2C businesses, including physical products, inventory, raw-material costing, e-commerce or affiliate programmes

    - Exposure to health or other regulated consumer products also beneficial

    - Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience

    - Proven knowledge of Power BI, SQL and/or similar data, analytics and tech tools

    - High emotional intelligence: you read the room, build trust quickly and can challenge founders and marketers without friction

    - Strong grip on governance, controls and compliance

    - Advanced Excel and financial modelling; comfortable with messy data

    Rewards and Benefits:

    * Basic salary between £60,000 and £80,000, plus benefits including pension and health/wellbeing programme

    * Maximum pay/rewards, dependent on possessing all outlined experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications

    * Full‑time, permanent, office-based in Gateshead

    * Free parking

    * On‑site health facilities, staff events and discounts, training/development and more

    * Casual dress

    * Pet friendly

    Please note: we review applications on receipt and aim to respond to shortlisted candidates within 5 working days. You must have permanent eligibility to work in the UK - no visa opportunities available.
