TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Nottingham, which caters for children and young people aged 4-16 years old with Autism / ASD. The school provides a specialist learning environment where pupils receive support tailored to their individual educational, social and emotional needs.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis starting in November 2026. The successful Behavioural Teaching Assistant will support pupils with Autism / ASD, helping to manage challenging behaviours, encourage positive engagement in learning and provide consistent support both inside and outside the classroom.
The successful Behavioural Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience working within SEND settings
Experience supporting children and young people with Autism / ASD
Experience managing challenging behaviour and implementing positive behaviour management strategies
Knowledge of SEND support strategies and an understanding of pupils' individual learning needs
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people
