How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Overseeing feasibility, preliminary, and detailed design phases for projects spanning highways, traffic, public realm, and active travel schemes.
Providing technical assurance and ensuring design compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Managing project budgets, timelines, resources, and performance metrics.
Commissioning and managing external consultants and contractors within framework agreements.
Engaging with stakeholders such as local authorities, utility providers, developers, and the public to ensure project success.
Delivering capital programmes, including externally funded schemes such as TfL LIP, Section 106, and CIL.
Overseeing highway works related to Section 278 and Section 38 agreements.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior management and decision-makers.
Promoting innovation, value engineering, carbon reduction, and active travel initiatives throughout projects.
    The ideal candidate will possess:

Proven experience managing highway and transport design teams within a local authority or consulting environment.
Strong technical knowledge of highway design standards, regulatory compliance, and project management.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Aptitude for managing multiple projects, budgets, and resources efficiently.
A relevant qualification in civil engineering, transportation planning, or a related field.
    Beneficial additional skills include:

Experience working on TfL or similar public agency schemes.
Knowledge of sustainability practices, innovation in transport solutions, and active travel promotion.
If you are a proactive professional with a strategic mindset and enthusiasm for delivering transformative transport projects, we invite you to submit your CV for consideration. Join our Client in making a meaningful impact on urban mobility and infrastructure resilience
